ELO (pre-orientation)

A few months before going, we had a huge meetup with everyone from YFU. For anyone wondering- preorientation is the last time you will see the fam(yfu) before your exchange.

the adorable name tags we got;)
adorable nametags;)

The event lasted 3 days and we started off with energizers(if you know you know) and got to know each other. We had a lot of games and open discussions, as well as classes on every topic imaginable when you think of an exchange year. I went there thinking, that it was going to be a slow and boring event, but when it was time to get into the car and leave, something in me knew that I was going to miss it- the people, the vibe.

hygiene first!!

I had to leave day early, because I had my graduation on the next day, so I never got to say a proper goodbye to everyone, which made me really sad. But thinking back now, over a month into the year, it was never supposed to be a "goodbye", rather a "see you later."

the important day:)

The graduation day was filled with a lot of emotions too, as I knew this was my last day with everyone I had been together from day to day for years. Everything has to come to an end eventually, as sad as it is. Even now, whenever I think about it, it makes me have a lump in my throat, but I've come to terms with it, and I know that at the end of my year in Brazil, I am gonna have that feeling again. But I will forever cherish the memories I have with those people, and keep in touch with everyone I love.
